Speaker:
Yevhen Pentsak, Head of MBAF kmbs. He taught advanced econometrics at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland and financial mathematics at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. He worked as an analyst at the Institute of Health Economics and Management and as director of the business school at the Lviv Institute of Management.

During the lecture, participants will learn:
– what financial economics is and what approaches it uses to evaluate investment projects;
– how an investment project can be interpreted as a set of possible cash flows with corresponding probabilities—in the form of a discrete or continuous lottery;
– how project risks influence its valuation by different investors within the framework of the von Neumann–Morgenstern expected utility theory;
– how this approach can be applied to business valuation in today’s Ukrainian context.
